This association was formed in 1983 after a tragic accident resulting in the death of a Ghanaian woman in the UK. The victim and the husband were natives of Atwima District of Ghana but they did not have any immediate family members to help with the funeral arrangement. One Nana Boahene Agyei took up this responsibility. He arranged for the body to be sent to Ghana, sorted out the burial and arranged a decent and befitting funeral.
After this incident, it became imperative for the people of Atwima traditional area to come together and form an association with the aim of helping each other in the event of such predicaments. The pioneers included Nana Agyeman Mensah, the late Mrs. Grace Adusei, Mr. J. K. Arthur, Mrs. Agatha Afriyie Ampem, Miss Christiana Kusi(currently Obaapanin) and Mrs. Mercy Cudjoe.

Presently, the association is a registered Charity (Charity number 1147317) and our objectives are, among others, to alleviate poverty, give help in times of need, encourage social and cultural education for the benefit of the public.

We strive to organise a dinner dance every year as part of our fund raising efforts to help our cause. The link below shows some members posing for the camera after donating Radiological equipment to the School of Medical Sciences, Kumasi
